Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson, and Thomas Allison Lennox were her parents. Lennox studied flute, piano and harpsichord in the Royal Academy of Music London for three years throughout the 70s. She survived on a student allowance and worked part-time to supplement her budget. In the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance when compared with her peers and she pondered what alternative direction she would take. Lennox joined a group called Dragons Playground as the flute player in 1976. The group broke up shortly before their appearance on I.T.V's talent program New Faces. From 1977 until 1980 she was lead vocalist for The Tourists, a British Pop band. She began to meet Dave Stewart, with whom they would create the pop duo Eurythmics. After that, Lennox began to work on her first solo album Diva and it came out in 1992. Commercially and critically, it was an enormous success. Nostalgia Lennoxs 6th solo album came out in the month of October 2014. The C.D. Lennox compiled her top soul jazz blues tracks from childhood. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox released Lepidoptera an album comprising four tracks improvised by piano. The E.P. She released her first solo album along with her artwork at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art with the title "Now I'm letting You Go."
